Hello my name is Bernadette and it is a great honour to say that I am Headteacher at The Grove Primary School. I have known that I have always wanted to be a teacher from the time that I was a little girl growing up in Northern Ireland. I began my teaching career in Gateshead and started teaching in the county of Durham in 2010.

I have been inspired by many teachers who have made a difference in my life and I hope to make a difference to the lives of the children, families and staff here at The Grove. I really love teaching and know that there is no other better job in the world.

When I am not at work, I love to relax by reading and think that the greatest pleasure is getting engrossed in a good book. I also like to travel and discover new places, with my husband, but I have to say my favourite place to visit is my home in Northern Ireland.
